Kristin Banta, one of the leading event design, planning, and production houses in the country, contracted us to curate an evening full of varied bites, sweets, and late night snacks for the wedding of celebrities Darren Criss and Mia Swier. The couple envisioned an evening in the garden with a plethora of appetizers and food experiences followed by sweets and comfort food. Darren Criss said throughout our work together that New Orleans is the perfect balance between hedonism and elegance and we used that statement to guide our work.
The evening began with a reception style dinner under the stars at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Alon Shaya of Saba curated the Mediterranean offerings while Marlon Alexander from Cru crafted the incredible spread of passed appetizers. Oysters XO charmed the crowd with their tasty roving bivalves. As guests entered the dance hall, an incredible dessert and candy bar executed by Salt and Light Pastry Co. was revealed followed by a late night snack of burgers by Sylvain and a silent disco. As guests exited the wedding, they were bid adieu with beignets and cafe au lait from Cafe du Monde.
