We were approached by the Jane Club Los Angeles to craft menus for their VIP Essence Festival Weekend events. The organizers envisioned a weekend with a coursed family-style New Orleans dinner followed by a gospel brunch with a menu curated by Carla Hall. To bring their vision to life, we used their first event as an opportunity to bring in two chefs to craft an upscale spread of traditional New Orleans food. The next morning, we knew Chef Ericka Lassair of Diva Dawg fame would be the ideal choice to work with Carla Hall to throw the incredible gospel brunch. We drew from the Jane Club's vision, aesthetics, and desired service format to pull this unique event together.
